Eventide Residential Home
Over 80 Years Of Caring
Our Message
"Our Residents
Do Not Live In Our Workplace,We Work In Their Home"
The History Of Eventide
Eventide has been providing Care in the North Cornwall area for over 70 years so you can imagine it has a very interesting history, going back to 1945. It is a far different place to what it was in 1945, but the basic principles have stayed the same. You can read about the history of Eventide HERE
Welcome to Eventide Residential Home where we have been looking after our guests for over 70 years and plan to continue doing so for many years to come.
We are the only Non Profit Making Care Home in the area. In fact we are a registered charity, so money received is put back into the home to ensure that everyone gets the best care, in comfortable surroundings
Our Statement Of Purpose
Our Statement Of Purpose is very important to us as it basically lays down the main principles of why Eventide has been so successful for so many years. Please take the time to read it

The Manager Of Eventide Is
Ben Birchmore
Ben has had a long experience of care work. He works with a close-knit team comprising 2 Assistant Managers, Senior Carers, Care Assistants, Cooks, Maintenance Man, and various others.
The Manager, Assistant Managers, Senior Carers and Care Assistants have a wide range of experience with qualifications ranging from NVQ2 up to NVQ5, in the care of the elderly.
The staff participate in recognised training programmes, and all are actively encouraged to use the continuing professional development that we provide to obtain additional formal qualifications, as we aim to provide the best care home services possible.

Assistant Manager
Jane Dearing
Jane has worked at Eventide for a long time, and what she doesn't know about how the care home runs, is not worth knowing.
Whilst Jane does work on the floor in a caring capacity, she mainly works in the office with Ben, dealing with the mass of paperwork required nowadays in respect of running the care home.
Every day, there are invoces to pay and goods to order, as well as keeping everything as it should be in relation to the CQC.

Assistant Manager
Abbie Smith
Abbie came to Eventide more recently than Jane but has proved to be a very special person, and well worthy of being an Assistant Manager.
She is a very hard worker and is very popular with residents and staff alike.
As well as the occasional office work, Abbie is mainly based on the floor, and is responsible for seeing that our guests are well cared for.
Abbie is Eventide through and through, as is Jane. She doesnt forget about our residents when she goes home either, and spends a lot of time organising things like quizzes to raise money, solely to pay for special treats for the residents.

The Home
Eventide was originally founded on 8th December 1945. It was originally called The Bude Stratton Aged Welfare Society. It has always been a Non Profit Making Home and is therefore a registered charity. Eventide is held in high esteem in the local area for the exceptional care we give to our residents.

Maintenance
Del
Our Maintenance Man
Here at Eventide we are extremely lucky. All properties such as Care Homes need constant work to keep them up to scratch. Del our maintenance man can basically lend his hand to anything. He is absolutely invaluable to us, and in some ways what is more important, the residents all love him to bits,

"My 99 year old father arrived at Eventide last May and settled in quickly. I felt very emotional and upset when I left him there but as I was leaving an elderly resident told me not to worry because no one would hurt or shout at him."
Sam Munday
"I was worried when mum had to go in a home but all the carers are brilliant and treat mum as their own. My mum is stuck in her ways, but they seem to understand her and nothing is too much trouble."
Neil Fishleigh
"My mother chose Eventide as her home when at the age of 87 she could no longer live independently. The loving care she received over the next 15 years not only made mum happy but gave her family peace of mind to know that she was in a safe and happy environment."
Jenny Westaway

Home Cooked Food
One thing that Eventide is famous for is our Home Cooked Food. We believe that the fact that our residents are no longer able to live in their own homes, their is no reason they should not have access to the best home cooked food.
All of our cooks are amazing, they make sure that our guests are fed wholesome healthy food with a lot of choice. They also cater for anyone with special dietary needs.

Activities
Here at Eventide we try to ensure we keep our residents minds active as well as trying to keep them as fit as possible. Weather permitting we also try to ensure, that trips out to various local venues are enjoyed. We prioritise keeping our residents happy as well as healthy.
